Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant

Duties

  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and support month-end closing activities in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Categorize and record business transactions to open the door to client deductions
  • Track and collect documents from clients
  • Conduct account reconciliation activities including bank statements, vendor statements, and credit card accounts
  • Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports for management review

Requirements

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Computer skills - keyboard typing Google Docs & Sheets are non-negotiable.
  • Valid driver's license - mileage reimbursement for on-site work available.
  • Bookkeeping, including double entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
  • Familiarity with accounting software platforms
  • Strong communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating with team members
  • Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately and efficiently for data entry tasks

Preferences

  • Experience in construction, corporate, LLC, or non-profit accounting environments preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
