Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team! Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date
- Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance
- Maintain organized financial records, including detailed documentation of transactions, expense reports, and audit trails
- Provide administrative support such as managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining office supplies
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in public or corporate accounting environments
- Hands-on experience with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger management
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently
- Familiarity with technical accounting procedures related to budgeting, financial report writing, and account reconciliation processes
- Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10 key typing and data entry accuracy
