Bookkeeper and Admin Support

ShackletonThomas is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and support the smooth functioning of our furniture retail business. This role combines bookkeeping responsibilities with light administrative and retail support tasks, including proposals and inventory coordination. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, comfortable working in a small business environment, capable of handling a wide range of responsibilities, and has a collaborative nature. This is not a remote position, and does require being onsite in our Bridgewater shop.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Management

● Assist with full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor bills, payments, and

recordkeeping

● Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including customer invoicing, payment tracking, and

collections follow-up

● Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations

● Maintain accurate financial records in Quickbooks

● Assist with monthly financial reporting and end-of-month close processes

● Monitor cash flow and flag discrepancies or issues promptly

Sales Support & Customer Administration

● Assist in creation of sales proposals, quotes, and customer invoices

● Coordinate with sales staff to ensure accurate pricing and order fulfillment

Retail & Inventory Support

● Assist retail store operations as needed (order tracking, customer service support,

coordination)

● Assist in the maintenance of periodic inventory records

Qualifications

● 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required

● Experience with AP, AR, and bank reconciliation required

● Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)

● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

● Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

● Basic understanding of inventory systems is a plus

● Experience with POS (Shopify) is a plus

● Strong communication skills and professional demeanor

● Collaborative and flexible

Pay Range: $24-$30 DOE

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
