Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other account balances through detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation.
- Process payroll accurately using payroll software, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify the integrity of financial data and support audit readiness.
- Support budgeting activities by providing accurate financial data and analysis for decision-making.
- Generate detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing, for internal use or external audits.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards such as GAAP, maintaining meticulous records of all transactions.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles as well as non-profit accounting practices.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting procedures and tax experience is a plus.
- Expertise in double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation with precision and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable management and journal entry processing.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting, and financial report writing.
- Competence in 10 key typing for efficient data entry and record keeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
