Bookkeeper - AP & AR Specialist

Job Description

MPC Financial Corporation, a professional full-service Accounting & Income Tax preparation firm has an immediate need for Bookkeeper and/or AP & AR Specialist for our growing business. This position is perfect for an individual who is looking to join a fast-paced, diverse, and hands-on client environment. The ideal candidate must be a well-organized, self-directed individual with strong motivation, and willingness to take initiative. The right candidate will work closely with our Accounting Manager and other accountants and operations personnel handling all accounting tasks. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

1. Data entry filing

2. Prepare and verify daily reports and cash applications

3. Prepare daily income/sales reports, and prepare daily journal entry

4. Reconcile bank, credit card accounts, and wire transfers

5. Payroll

6. Accounts payable and accounts receivable

7. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary

8. Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis

9. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

10. Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations

11. Other accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years accounting experience. Accounting degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.

2. Expertise with QuickBooks desktop Accountant version is a MUST

3. Extensive knowledge of US GAAP

4. Experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

5. Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases

6. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills

7. Additional experience in Audit and International accounting is desired but not necessary

8. Personal & Business Income Tax preparation is desired but not necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,600.00 - $62,400.00 per year
