Bookkeeper for Sub-Contractor Company

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our subcontractor company, supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate record-keeping. In this role, you will manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintain precise financial records, and assist with financial reporting to support our business growth. Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare and record journal entries accurately within accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure financial data integrity
  • Assist with payroll processing, including tax filings and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management review
  • Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards where applicable

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within a subcontractor or construction-related environment
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting (if applicable), and public accounting practices
  • Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
  • Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is highly desirable
  • Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, accounts payable/receivable, and financial report writing
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently using 10 key typing skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of bookkeeping and account management

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
