Bookkeeper or office Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper or Office Manager to prepare Real estate and personal bookkeeping for tax purposes . This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency with various accounting software, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will be good working with an older owner who needs help with organizing paperwork since not caught up on technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping systems
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or other relevant platforms to maintain financial records
  • Generate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Assist with budgeting processes and financial analysis to support strategic planning
  • Handle payroll processing and related tax filings
  • Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits and internal reviews
  • Support office administrative functions as needed, including data entry (10 key typing) and general office management tasks

Skills

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
  • Expertise in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax regulations is a plus
  • Ability to prepare detailed financial reports and perform financial report writing effectively
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial concepts for strategic planning
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks
  • Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation processes
  • Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and external auditors

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $20.00 - $30.27 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Savage, MN 55378
