About Us
Rio Izakaya is an upscale Japanese dining concept focused on refined authentic yakitori, dry-aged sushi sashimi, daily milled rice and a curated cocktail program from bar.
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeper who understands restaurant operations and values accuracy, accountability, and clean reporting.
Position Overview
This role can be part-time or full-time, depending on experience and availability.
The key requirement is coming in daily (except for Mondays) for inventory checks, inspections, and coordination with management.
The schedule is flexible, making this ideal for an experienced bookkeeper seeking balance, autonomy, or multiple clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inventory checks and inspections
- Track inventory received, sold, and on-hand
- Reconcile inventory against POS and vendor invoices
- Monitor COGS and cost variances
- Manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
- Prepare financial reports for ownership
- Communicate clearly with management and owners
- Coordinate with external CPA / tax professionals
- Maintain clean, organized financial records
Qualifications
Required
- 1+ years of bookkeeping experience (restaurant or hospitality strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience with inventory tracking and vendor reconciliation
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working independently and communicating with ownership
Preferred
- Experience with restaurant POS systems (Toast)
- Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills
- Payroll coordination experience
- Certified Bookkeeper or accounting coursework
Schedule & Flexibility
- On-site presence: daily for inventory and inspections
- Hours: Flexible (to be mutually agreed)
- Remote work: Permitted for reporting and administrative tasks
- Part-time or full-time: Based on availability and capability
Compensation
Pay Range:
- $19–$26/hour (based on experience)
