Bookkeeper Virtual Position

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing essential support for financial reporting. This role requires proficiency in various financial software and a strong understanding of accounting practices. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization.

Duties

• Maintain and update financial records using appropriate financial software.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and payment tracking.
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely payment of employee wages.
• Prepare general ledger entries and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
• Support budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and insights.
• Collaborate with external auditors during public accounting audits as needed.
• Prepare tax documents and assist in the filing process to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Provide support for governmental accounting requirements when applicable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in financial software, such as Sage or other accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and payroll processes.
• Familiarity with budgeting practices and tax regulations is preferred.
• Experience in public accounting or governmental accounting is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
