We are looking for a dedicated and organized Bookkeeper to work on our operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial data from the previous night's activities and supporting local administrative or client-specific tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining ledger accuracy and preparing financial records for review.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Transaction Processing: Accurately review and post daily financial transactions (e.g., invoices, expense reports, receipts) that were prepared or queued up during the night shift.
- Data Entry and Verification: Perform meticulous data entry into the accounting system and verify the integrity of the data processed by other team members.
- Bank Reconciliation Support: Assist in gathering necessary documentation and preliminary steps for daily and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Filing: Organize, file, and maintain both digital and physical documentation related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for easy retrieval.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative accounting support, which may include managing local payroll inputs, handling petty cash, and supporting local regulatory compliance filings.
- Reporting: Generate standard daily, weekly, or monthly financial reports and summaries as requested by local management or the night shift senior team.
- Internal Communication: Serve as the liaison between the night shift and the local administration for any accounting documentation or hand-off required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Proven work experience (1+ years) as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Assistant, or in a similar financial role.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and a good command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, journal entries) and financial record-keeping.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and clear communication skills.
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
- US-Based Experience: Previous experience working with US accounting software, transaction types, or familiarity with US business documentation standards is a strong advantage.
QuickBooks proficiency is a bonus too
