Bookworm Reading Instructor & Enrollment Advisor (Middle School Program)

About Us
Kyo Standard is a premium academic enrichment company focused on helping students develop advanced thinking skills in reading, writing, and standardized test performance. Our programs are designed for motivated students and families who value intellectual growth and academic excellence.

We are launching the Bookworm Reading Program, a structured literary academy for middle school students that develops advanced reading comprehension, vocabulary, and analytical thinking through guided discussion and curated literature.

We are looking for thoughtful, engaging educators who enjoy working with students and are also comfortable speaking with parents about the program.

About the Role

This position combines two responsibilities:

  • Teaching Bookworm literary seminars
  • Speaking with parents interested in enrolling their student

Instructors lead small-group reading seminars for middle school students and occasionally take scheduled calls with prospective parents to explain the program and help them determine if Bookworm is a good fit.

Because instructors understand the curriculum and student experience, they are often the best people to communicate the value of the program to families.

Teaching Responsibilities

Lead weekly 60-minute online Bookworm seminars

Guide students through discussion of assigned monthly books

Teach reading comprehension strategies such as:

  • identifying themes
  • analyzing characters
  • interpreting author’s purpose
  • supporting ideas with textual evidence

Encourage thoughtful discussion and participation

Provide occasional written feedback on student reading responses

Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment

Enrollment Call Responsibilities

Occasionally take scheduled calls with prospective parents

Explain the Bookworm program structure and curriculum

Answer parent questions about the program

Help families determine if the program is a good fit for their student

Calls are consultative and informational rather than high-pressure sales.
