Position Summary
Box Office Representatives are vital members of Ravinia’s Guest Experience team and play a central role in creating memorable experiences for all who visit. As the front line of ticketing and patron interaction, this position supports all ticket-related matters while embodying Ravinia’s values and commitment to exceptional service.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts, enjoys working with people, communicates clearly and confidently, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Background in customer service, ticketing, retail, or hospitality. Experience in nonprofit arts or music organizations and diverse musical interests are a plus. Multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Ticketing Operations and Sales
Process ticket sales, exchanges, donations, and will call transactions via phone and in person
Assist patrons with website navigation and online ticket purchasing
Retain and communicate detailed information about performances, events, and park policies
Guest Service and Patron Support
Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism and enthusiasm
Listen attentively to guest questions and concerns and provide clear, accurate responses
Resolve straightforward customer challenges efficiently and courteously
Provide detailed information about Highland Park and surrounding areas, including directions, parking, and public transportation
Cash Handling and Financial Accuracy
Accurately process multiple forms of payment (cash, check, credit card)
Handle daily cash reconciliation and maintain financial accuracy
Administrative and Operational Support
Perform filing, copying, and general office tasks
Maintain a clean, organized shared workspace
Provide support to the Development and Guest Experience departments as needed
Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain composed and positive during high-volume or challenging situations
Detail-oriented with strong data entry and proofreading skills
Proficient in typing and comfortable learning new computer systems quickly (Google Workspace a plus)
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Team player with the ability to work independently

Work Environment
This is a seasonal position. During the height of the summer concert season, typically June through September, the schedule will range between morning, afternoon, and late evening shifts, including most weekends and some holidays. Positions offer a schedule of 30-40 hours a week. Flexibility for fewer hours available for qualified candidates. Standard business hours are available beginning in March. Located at Ravinia Festival, Highland Park, IL.
