Box Straight Truck Delivery Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Straight Truck Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver goods efficiently and on time to various locations. Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck to complete scheduled deliveries across designated routes
• Load and unload cargo using equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts, ensuring items are handled with care and secured properly
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records
• Assist with warehouse activities including moving inventory, organizing stock, and preparing shipments for delivery
• Obtain delivery confirmation per customer specification via tablet, and/or paperwork
• Driver and a helper work together to make local daily deliveries around the Indianapolis metro area, throughout the state of Indiana, and into neighboring states.
• Other duties may be assigned including general warehouse and cleanup duties

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience preferred
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, especially with box trucks or similar vehicles
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to loading, unloading, and moving cargo
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Experience in route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols
• Must be comfortable driving different vehicle types
• Prior experience in heavy lifting, moving goods, or warehouse environments is advantageous
• Valid Indiana Driver's license with an endorsement of one of the following: For Hire ( also referred as a Chauffeurs) Driver’s License, CDL Class B, CDL Class A
• Ability to pass a DOT physical for a DOT Medical Certificate
• Minimum of (1) year experience driving a 26' straight truck of >16,000 lbs. (required)
• Ability to work and drive in all types of weather
• Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled
• Professional appearance
• Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise (with a helper) weighing between 70-250 pounds
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent customer service skills, conducting customer contact in a professional and courteous manner
• Passing a background and drug screen (required)

Compensation is based on experience and endorsements (For Hire, Class B, Class A)

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
