We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Box Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving box trucks to required locations and job sites. Properly inspecting trucks, fueling, and traveling long distances -Throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia- receiving, assembling, and installing commercial furniture in office spaces, schools, healthcare facilities, and other professional environments. This role requires the ability to be on the road safely securing furniture and driving to and from locations, and working efficiently independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Box Truck Driving: Load, unload, and deliver furniture to and from various office locations. Making trips to recycling centers, company warehouses, or other office building in line with the current projects. Properly secure all furniture to the truck ensuring nothing is damaged or likely to shift/adjust while on the road.
  • Furniture Installation: Assemble, install, and configure office furniture, including workstations, cubicles, desks, conference tables, seating, and filing systems according to layout plans.
  • Delivery & Setup: Assist with unloading furniture and ensure all items are delivered without damage.
  • Blueprint & Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret installation drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper setup.
  • On-Site Adjustments: Modify and adjust furniture components as needed to fit client spaces, including drilling, leveling, mounting, and anchoring.
  • Quality Control: Inspect furniture for defects and ensure proper installation according to manufacturer and client standards. Document any damages and notify management
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain professional communication with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all workplace safety procedures and ensure the proper use of tools and equipment. Wear proper safety gear.
  • Tool & Equipment Handling: Use hand tools and power tools effectively to assemble and secure furniture components.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot installation challenges and find effective solutions.
  • Site Cleanup: Ensure work areas are clean and free of debris after unloading furniture.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial furniture installation, carpentry, or a related field.
  • Experience with modular office furniture brands (Steelcase, Herman Miller, Haworth, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools used in furniture assembly.
  • 1-3 years experience in furniture moving, commercial or residential.
  • 1-3 years experience driving box trucks or vehicles alike.

Job Functions & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move box trucks safely to different locations
  • Ability to secure furniture and cargo to truck sufficiently
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, kneeling, and working in tight spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations within Maryland, D.C., and Virginia
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass standard background check and drug screening

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Technical or vocational training in carpentry, construction, or a related field is a plus.
  • Certifications in furniture installation or OSHA safety training are preferred but not required.
  • CDL required
  • Valid driver's license required
