Summary:
Responsible for driving a box truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area. Lanes runs approximately 250 miles around Ohio and Midwest region. Drivers will be providing white glove service to retail stores.
Essential Duties:
- Comply with all Company policies, local work and safety rules and federal, state, and local regulations that govern the industry.

Receive and verify dispatch instructions properly.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in the ELD system (Samsara). Inspect the operating condition of the vehicle before and after trip, and when stopped in route.

Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations in ELD.

Maintain Transportation Management System (Ditat) to receive delivery instructions.

May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, or fuses.

Report delays, safety hazards, and report accidents to the office for further instruction.

Prepare, inspect, and clean vehicle before loading freight.

Review freight bills for special instructions. Check manifests for existing exceptions.
- Inspect the condition of freight and notify the supervisor of any damaged freight.

Ensure equipment and/or cargo is secured before movement.

Participate in training programs; maintain and update safety skills and knowledge; keep current with hazardous material training requirements, if required.

Perform duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism within the Company and the industry.
Qualifications:
- Must be age 21 or older.
- Must have 2 years of commercial driving experience.

Experience delivering to retail stores is a plus but not required.

Must have a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that represents a history of safe and competent driving.

Must pass an employment record, criminal background check, drug screen, physical performance test, and driving test on company equipment.

Must be able to work the maximum hours allowed under D.O.T. Hours of Service Regulations on various shifts/days of the week, while maintaining outstanding safety and attendance.

Must be medically qualified to operate in interstate commerce.

Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively.

Must meet all requirements of Sections 391 and 383 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
