Duties

• Safely operate box trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, across assigned routes to deliver freight promptly.
• Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
• Drive a variety of truck types, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers, adapting to different freight requirements.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
• Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles with route driving responsibilities.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and familiarity with various truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
• Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
• Strong knowledge of transportation safety standards and regulations for commercial driving.
• Excellent route planning skills to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency.
• Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
