Box Truck Drivers

Overview
We are seeking predictable and consistent team members who will be reliable Drivers. You will play a crucial role in the logistics process, to ensure deliveries are made efficiently and accurately. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of used tires, loading and unloading heavy cargo, and ensuring timely deliveries and pickups at various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transportation: Safely operate a box truck to deliver and collect used tires from various locations according to schedule.
• Loading and Unloading: Perform physically demanding tasks of loading and unloading heavy tires, ensuring all items are handled with care to prevent damage and maintain safety.
• Route Planning: Work with Logistics Supervisor to plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely collections and deliveries, adjusting as necessary based on traffic and weather conditions.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all interactions with clients are professional, courteous, and reflect a positive attitude.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on the truck, reporting any issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Compliance: Strictly adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and legal operation of the vehicle.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections, including logs of working hours, delivery times, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles.
• License: A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
• Physical Fitness: Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift and move heavy tires, up to 50 pounds, repeatedly throughout the day.
• Skills: Excellent driving skills, thorough knowledge of road safety regulations, and basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance.
• Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
• Dependability: Highly reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a labor-intensive delivery role, particularly in the recycling or waste management industry.
• Familiarity with [specific delivery software/system] and GPS navigation systems.
• Ability to efficiently manage paperwork, delivery schedules, and use relevant apps.

Work Environment:

• This role involves working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with tight schedules.
• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions while loading/unloading and during deliveries and collections.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of heavy tires, requiring sustained physical effort and stamina.
