Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Braider to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in hair styling techniques, particularly in braiding, and will be dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. As a Hair Braider, you will create beautiful braided styles while ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere for clients.

Duties

• Execute various hair braiding techniques, including but not limited to cornrows, box braids, weaving and twists.
• Provide consultations to clients regarding their desired styles and recommend appropriate hair extensions or products.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and salon equipment in compliance with health regulations.
• Utilize salon software such as Fresha for scheduling appointments and managing client records.
• Assist with front desk operations including greeting clients, answering inquiries, and managing retail sales transactions.
• Educate clients on hair care maintenance and product usage to enhance their overall experience.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive salon environment through effective communication and teamwork.
• Mentor junior staff or interns in hair braiding techniques and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in hair braiding with a strong portfolio showcasing various styles.
• Knowledge of hair extensions application techniques and color theory.
• Familiarity with salon software systems, particularly Fresha, is preferred, but not required.
• Must Speak & Write English.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey ideas and instructions.
• Understanding of sanitation practices within the beauty industry.
• Ability to perform services such as hair extensions, weaving, haircut, blow dry, color, and specialty treatments such as hair straightening with various products.
• Experience in retail sales and upselling beauty products.
• Strong organizational skills for managing appointments and inventory.
• Salon experience not less than 5 years
