The Job at a Glance

The Branch & Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational success of the branch. This role ensures the branch consistently delivers exceptional member service, achieves financial and sales goals, maintains compliance with CU1 policies and regulatory standards, and fosters a positive, high-performing team environment. The Branch & Community Engagement Manager oversees all branch functions, leads staff development, manages risk and operational controls, resolves complex member issues, and represents CU1 in the community. This position is accountable for branch performance and serves as the primary decision-maker for all branch activities. The Branch & Community Engagement Manager promotes CU1’s core values of Be Great, Be Engaged, Be Open, Be Nice.

A Typical Day

  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, and development for all branch staff (tellers, relationship bankers and ABMs), including hiring recommendations, onboarding, performance feedback, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Drive branch growth by leading sales and business development efforts, ensuring successful promotion of CU1 products and services (loans, deposits, digital solutions, etc.), and setting clear expectations to meet or exceed branch sales goals.
  • Oversee the financial performance of the branch, including budget oversight and adherence, expense control, loan and deposit growth, member retention, and delinquency management to ensure strong branch profitability.
  • Analyze and manage operational and performance reports, ensuring accuracy, conducting audits (including cash, compliance, and procedural audits), identifying and mitigating risks through corrective action plans.
  • Direct and manage all daily branch operations, ensuring accurate cash handling, vault management, transaction processing, workflow efficiency, and branch security in accordance with CU1 policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and provide guidance on complex member service matters, ensuring timely resolution of escalated issues and maintaining high levels of member satisfaction and service excellence across the branch.
  • Ensure full compliance with CU1 policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a strong culture of risk management, security, and ethical conduct.
  • Represent the branch and Credit Union 1 within the community, building relationships, participating in community events, and supporting local business development to increase CU1 visibility and membership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and provide leadership support to staff across the branch and CU1 organization as needed.
  • Lead the branch team by ensuring a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field of study preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and/or training.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience required, with a proven record of exceeding member expectations.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
