The primary function of the Branch Manager is to supervise staff and the day-to-day operations of the assigned branch location, ensuring delivery of quality customer service and achievement of sales and productivity goals. The Branch Manager also assumes the responsibility and accountability for customer retention and the profitability of each department. Fulfill responsibility using sound business management practices. Plans, motivates, coordinates the activities of the management team, and supervises expansion efforts in the territory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the sales and overall profitability of the dealership and their operating departments.
- Collaborates with other branch managers
- Plans for and supervises expansion efforts in the territory by increasing the number of clients for which to do business.
- Approves the hiring, firing, or transfer of managers while training and developing.
- Directs and monitors all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions and completes formal performance evaluations of all department managers.
- Plans dealership operations for the coming year and submits annual business plans and budgets to the VP of Operations and CFO for approval.
- Interacts with the VP of Operations and CFO to review departmental forecasts, operating metrics, and financial statements to ensure compliance with company goals and objectives.
- Meets with department managers to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives. Reviews performance while taking corrective action when applicable.
- Monitors the daily operations, recommending improved courses of action where necessary.
- Provides Vice President of Operations with accurate weekly updates on the operating condition of the dealership.
- Ensures that the monthly financial statement is complete, accurate, and submitted on time to the CFO.
- Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed. Provides enthusiastic leadership to help shape employees? attitudes and build morale.
- Holds regularly weekly manager meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
- Reviews all requests for training, approves those which are appropriate and consistent with dealership goals for professional/technical ability and advancement, and monitors their effectiveness.
- Reviews and approves compensation plans for all employees under authority and direction of the Vice President of Operations.
- Coordinates with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
- Develops merchandising strategies along with the Marketing Manager to assist in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs. Conducts market analysis to determine potential for all vehicle product lines, parts, and service.
- Achieves level of truck sales to meet annual Kenworth quotas for heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks.
- Monitors the Company?s image with customers and potential customers and takes corrective action through subordinate managers when appropriate.
- Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all facilities, equipment, and inventory.
- Directs responsible employee(s) to correct deficiencies in company standards in the following areas: individual offices, merchandising standards in the parts department, back-room parts storage areas, including HGI parts storage area and all safety issues as observed.
- Follows all accounting and procedural rules as outlined in the Department Polices Book and the Company Employee Handbook.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Abides by the company Drug Free Policy.
