Branch Manager – Construction & Energy Services

Octagon Construction and Energy Services, Inc. Brewer, Maine Full-Time On-Site

Lead Something From the Ground Up

Octagon Construction and Energy Services is expanding, and we're opening a new branch in Brewer, Maine. We're looking for a proven construction leader – a Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager, or current Branch Manager – who is ready to build a team, build an operation, and run it with the backing of an established, multi-branch organization behind them.

This is not a caretaker role. You will launch the branch, build the team, own the results, and grow Octagon's presence in the Bangor/Brewer market. If you've spent years running complex construction and reconstruction projects and you're ready for full P&L ownership, this is the step up.

Who We Are

Octagon Construction and Energy Services, Inc. delivers residential and commercial construction, remodeling, insurance reconstruction, and energy services across Maine and New Hampshire, with operations in Windham, Barrington, and Fairfield. As part of the Octagon family of companies alongside Octagon Cleaning & Restoration, we rebuild homes and businesses after a loss and take construction projects from estimate through final walkthrough. Brewer is our next chapter – and its Branch Manager will be a key part of our leadership team from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Own the branch: Lead the launch and day-to-day operation of the Brewer branch, with full accountability for branch performance, profitability, and growth
  • Build the team: Recruit, train, and develop project managers, technicians, and administrative staff as the branch scales
  • Run the work: Oversee construction and reconstruction projects from estimate to completion – scoping, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor and crew management, and quality control
  • Drive the numbers: Manage estimates, job costing, collections support, and branch financial reporting; drive margin and cycle-time targets
  • Grow the market: Develop relationships with insurance adjusters, agents, property managers, homeowners, and commercial clients to build a steady pipeline of work in the Bangor/Brewer market
  • Protect the standard: Enforce documentation, safety, and quality standards consistent with company processes, building codes, and carrier program requirements
  • Answer the call: Support after-hours response for storm damage, board-ups, and urgent client needs as the situation requires

What You Bring

  • The ability to build and manage effective teams – this is a necessity. You have a track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing field and office staff, and of creating a culture of accountability
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in general construction, remodeling, or insurance reconstruction, including senior project management or branch/operations leadership
  • Solid construction background: you understand scopes, trades, sequencing, and build quality, and can hold crews and subcontractors accountable for schedule, budget, and workmanship
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate estimating and insurance claims workflows preferred; we will train the right construction leader on the insurance side
  • Financial literacy: comfortable owning a branch P&L, job costing, WIP, and AR follow-through
  • Business development mindset – you build relationships that turn into work
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check
  • Availability for occasional after-hours response as needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonus tied to branch results
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Health insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays
  • Retirement plan
  • Company phone and laptop
  • Real advancement: leadership role in a growing multi-branch organization
