The Branch Manager / Loan Officer will be responsible for overseeing branch operations, ensuring effective and efficient management, and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will lead the branch team, drive business growth, and ensure compliance with all banking and loan policies. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting and managing loan products, helping clients with financing options, and achieving branch sales goals. This role requires leadership, strong customer service skills, and a deep understanding of financial products, particularly loans, mortgages, and business lending.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other branch and district managers to set reasonable sales and/or retail goals.
  • Collaborates with district manager to set performance standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational goals and required compliance with internal, local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff; provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives.
  • Identifies training needs and opportunities; develops and implements a plan for meeting those needs.
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, demonstrating excellent customer service and setting an example for other staff.
  • Participates in community activities to promote the organization and to build goodwill.
  • Collaborates with other managers and district managers regarding advertising, marketing, and growth campaigns.
  • Assists with start-up, development, and growth of new branches as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assists potential borrowers with completion of initial loan applications; reviews submitted applications for accuracy and completion, requesting additional information or detail as needed.
  • Verifies information and financial history provided; acquires borrower’s credit reports from major credit reporting bureau(s).
  • Submits application to credit analysts or, when appropriate, examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan.
  • Approves or, when outside pre-approved lending limits, refers loans to management for analysis and approval.
  • Ensures loan agreements are completed according to policy; calculates and explains payment schedules.
  • Explains different lending and credit options and bank products to potential and current clients.
  • Maintains credit and lending records and files.
  • Maintains a robust referral network in the local banking community with builders, real estate agents, and other related businesses.

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae), and other types of construction and conventional loans.

Goals & Objectives:


  • Listen to the customer’s needs and provide education regarding bank products, fees, and services.
  • Meet annual new money loan goal.
  • Participate in FFNB sponsored events.
  • Complete all assigned training courses on time.

(Management/Supervisors)

  • Organize workflow and relationships among employees, as well as their department functions.
  • Delegate work, and make sufficient use of resources
  • Define employee expectations; correct performance problems and develop employee’s capabilities to enhance development

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
