Job Summary:
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the branch. This role oversees daily operations, sales growth, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction across all service lines including waste transportation, disposal, and industrial services.
The Branch Manager is accountable for achieving financial targets, developing personnel, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving business growth within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Branch Operations Management
- Oversee all daily operations including:
- Vacuum truck services
- Roll-off services
- Waste transportation and disposal
- Industrial services (hydroblasting, tank cleaning, etc.)
- Ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and utilization of equipment and labor
- Maintain operational readiness of fleet and equipment
- Partner with maintenance and warehouse teams to ensure uptime
2. Financial Performance & P&L Ownership
- Own full branch P&L including revenue, margin, and cost control
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor key financial metrics:
- Revenue growth
- Gross margin
- Labor utilization
- Equipment utilization
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
3. Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Drive new business development and revenue growth within the territory
- Support and hold sales team accountable to:
- Weekly activity (calls, meetings)
- Pipeline development
- Closing new business
- Maintain key customer relationships and participate in strategic sales efforts
- Ensure proper pricing strategies aligned with company goals
4. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA / RCRA requirements)
- Department of Transportation (DOT 49 CFR regulations)
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA standards)
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across all operations
5. Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and develop branch personnel
- Lead operations staff, drivers, technicians, and sales team members
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork
6. Customer Service & Retention
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality
- Resolve escalated customer issues in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain long-term relationships with key accounts
- Ensure service execution meets or exceeds contractual expectations
7. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure accurate completion of:
- Manifests
- Bills of lading
- Waste profiles and approvals
- Maintain proper documentation for all regulatory and internal requirements
- Support audits and inspections as needed
QualificationsRequired
- 5+ years of experience in: Environmental services, waste management, or industrial services
- 4+ years of leadership or management experience in the industry
- Strong understanding of: Hazardous and non-hazardous waste operations
- Transportation logistics and fleet management
- Working knowledge of EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations
- Proven ability to manage P&L and drive financial performance
- Must have CDL Class B with Hazmat Endorsement
- Proven track record of training and mentoring Sales & Service Reps in the field
- Must have strong communication skills (Verbal and Email)
Preferred
- Experience with vacuum truck and industrial cleaning operations
- Existing relationships within industrial, automotive, or manufacturing sectors
