BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the effective oversight and management of the branch staff. Coaches staff to effectively deliver high standards of service and professionalism at every member interaction. Ensures quality performance and helps implement training initiatives to meet organizational goals.
TYPICAL DUTIES
- Coaches to a sales and service culture while implementing and supporting all critical success measures set forth by the credit union to achieve high member satisfaction and production, under the supervision of the Branch Operations management and Vice President – Branch Operations.
- Ensures adequate staffing to service the membership by using creative scheduling, while maintaining maximum productivity.
- Provides staff with assistance, guidance, training, and development to support performance and quality of service delivered to members and coworkers.
- Adequately fulfills the duties of all branch operations positions as required.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use and management of all types of equipment and technology to include ITMs, TCDs, recyclers, etc.
- Develops and mentors employees to encourage professional development and growth.
- Ensures monetary needs are met for daily operation of the branch.
- Has the authority to recommend hiring or terminating an employee’s employment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all software applications needed to effectively run operations and serve members.
- Ensures all operations policies and procedures are adhered to and performed as required.
- Assists branch operations management in any emergencies, problems or situations as necessary.
- Performs security officer duties to ensure the safety of all credit union staff, members and monetary assets.
- Maintains communication with facilities department to ensure the branch facility is safe and operable at all times.
- Is branch advocate and participates and represents GECU in various community activities.
- Counsels or meets with supervisors and employees on a regular basis with open communication to ensure all items of priority are addressed discussed and acted upon in a timely manner.
- Maintains a professional and healthy working relationship with 3rd party vendors/temporary employees to ensure a good work environment and GECU’s professional image.
- May require working in different areas of the credit union such as traditional branch setting, neighborhood branch, and/or Contact Center environment as needed to serve the credit union's members.
- Travels to main office, with prior management approval, as needed.
- Ensure compliance on a day to day basis within the areas of your responsibility and ensure that employees will receive the necessary training to comply with applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) addressing Money Laundering and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), which apply specifically to their job.
- Performs any and all other duties as may be assigned or required concerning the general operation of the credit union.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Associates Degree or CCUE or equivalent with multiple years of similar or related work experience.
- Knowledge of all aspects credit union products and services, posting to member accounts, negotiable instruments, opening new accounts, and processing loans.
- Effective leadership and people skills.
- Extensive knowledge and skills regarding all remote and member self-service offerings and channels.
- Ability to handle unique member situations and/or escalated situations with empathy and understanding
- Working knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing credit unions and policies established by the Board of Directors.
- Knowledge and awareness of the importance of security when dealing with cash, keys, security cameras, and other areas within the credit union.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Enthusiastic and able to work in a team environment with the ability to promote high team morale.
- The ability to deal effectively with difficult and high-pressure situations.
- Basic understanding of equipment used in the general operation of the branch business unit.
- Demonstrated organizational and management skills.
- Demonstrated critical/ analytical thinking skills.
- Requires standing and walking the majority of the day, lifting up to 50 pounds and reaching below shoulder level continuously, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling and reaching above shoulder level frequently, climbing occasionally.
Required Availability: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Occasional Travel to El Paso, Texas Required
