The Vision
At Gunwerks, we don’t just manufacture long-range shooting systems; we engineer heirloom-quality instruments of precision. We are looking for a Brand Cinematographer who understands that a rifle is more than the sum of its parts—it is a story of craft, grit, and scientific excellence.
Your mission is to help define the Gunwerks visual identity, aligning our brand with the world’s most respected luxury icons. You won't just be "capturing footage"; you will be a primary architect of our visual legacy, documenting the hands of the craftsmen and the soul of the machine.
The Role
As our visual storyteller, you will bridge the gap between the technical world of long-range ballistics and the emotional world of premium brand narrative. You will spend your days in our world-class manufacturing facility and out in the rugged Wyoming landscape, crafting content that feels as precise and high-end as the products we build.
Key Responsibilities:
- Narrative Execution: Execute the visual language for Gunwerks, ensuring every frame—from social shorts to hero films—aligns with a premium, luxury aesthetic.
- Artisanal Documentation: Work alongside our master gunsmiths and engineers to produce "process-heavy" films that highlight the texture, sound, and dedication behind the build.
- Product Cinematography: Utilize advanced lighting and macro-cinematography to showcase the finish, fit, and engineering of our systems.
- Field Production: Capture the Gunwerks system in its natural element, focusing on the atmosphere, environment, and "feeling" of the hunt.
- Post-Production Excellence: Manage the edit, sound design, and color grade to ensure a consistent, "film-look" across all digital touchpoints.
The Ideal Candidate
You have a "luxury eye." You likely have a background working with high-end automotive, horology (watches), outdoor heritage brands, or artisanal manufacturers.
- The Aesthetic: You have a portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of light, composition, and mood. You know how to make metal, glass, and wood look tactile and expensive.
- The Storyteller: You understand pacing and narrative arc. You can find the human story inside a technical process.
- The Gear: You are proficient in cinema-grade camera systems (RED, Sony FX series, etc.) and understand the nuances of lens selection for specific brand moods.
- The Grit: You are as comfortable in a high-end studio environment as you are hiking a ridge in the Rockies to get the perfect blue-hour shot.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in cinematography or commercial filmmaking, specifically for premium/luxury goods or craftsmanship-focused brands.
- Expertise in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere with a strong emphasis on color science and grading.
- A portfolio that showcases story over volume—we want to see your ability to elevate a subject through your lens.
- Ability to work in Cody, WY, and a passion for the rugged, intentional lifestyle that our brand represents.
Why Gunwerks?
This is not a high-volume "content creator" role. This is an opportunity to be the visual voice of the leader in the long-range industry. You will have the creative space to push boundaries and the access to the most precise technology in the industry to create your art.
