Brick Mill Furniture builds premium, American-made hardwood furniture — handcrafted and made to order. We’re growing fast, expanding our product line, and building a family of furniture and millwork brands. We’re looking for our first in-house Brand & Creative Designer to own how our brand looks and feels across everything we make.
This is a rare ground-floor creative role. You won’t be one designer among many executing someone else’s vision — you’ll be the person who defines and owns our visual identity, and you’ll help shape the products themselves alongside our engineering and product team. If you want your work to visibly move a business, this is that job.
What you’ll do
- Own and elevate our visual identity — photography, website, product imagery, social, print, and packaging — and create cohesiveness across our brands.
- Direct and shoot product and lifestyle content — our furniture sells online, so the imagery and video that show it off are what close the sale.
- Set our brand up to support a growing product line. For example, as we add new upholstered pieces like headboards, dining chairs, and benches, your work makes them feel like a deliberate extension of the line — not bolt-ons.
- Partner with our lead engineer and product team on the design of new products and variations — how the line looks, how pieces relate, how each one expresses the brand.
- Create the assets that power our ecommerce sites and marketing, and set the creative standard our external partners execute against.
- Support our architectural millwork brand with the professional materials and project storytelling that win work in that industry.
Who we’re looking for
We want a designer with real range — someone who can both build a brand system and roll up their sleeves to produce the work. We’re especially interested in candidates who bring one or more of the following:
- Videography experience — you can shoot and edit product and brand video, not just stills.
- Interior design experience — you understand how furniture lives in a space and how to style and stage it to sell.
- Ecommerce experience — you’ve designed for online stores (ideally Shopify) and know what makes a product page convert.
You don’t need all three — strength in any one, paired with solid design fundamentals, will get our attention.
We also expect this person to be fluent with AI tools:
- Fluent with AI creative and productivity tools — you actively use platforms like Midjourney, ChatGPT, and Claude in your day-to-day work to generate concepts, accelerate production, and work efficiently.
- Comfortable making AI a real part of how you work, not an afterthought — we lean on these tools across our business and expect this role to push that further.
Core qualifications
- A strong portfolio showing brand and visual design work — this matters more to us than years on a résumé.
- Fluency with the standard creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent).
- The ability to own brand consistency across more than one brand at a time.
- A self-starter who can take an idea from concept to finished asset with minimal hand-holding.
- Based in or able to work on-site in the Williamsport, PA area.
Nice to have
- Experience in furniture, home, interiors, or another premium, design-led product category.
- Experience launching a brand or product line from scratch.
- Photography lighting/styling skills and your own comfort behind a camera.
Why this role is worth your time
- Real ownership. You’re the first dedicated creative hire — you define the standard, you don’t inherit it.
- Visible impact. Your work is the showroom for premium products people buy sight-unseen. What you make directly drives the business.
- Room to grow. As our brands and creative team grow, this role can grow into creative leadership.
- Range, not repetition. Multiple brands, real products, product launches — you won’t be making the same banner ad for five years.
