Breakfast/ Lunch Line Cook

Historic hotel and full service restaurant seeks an experienced Line Cook. The ideal candidate must be able to work weekends and major holidays, have a stable work history, and be in possession of a current Florida Food Handlers card. JOB BRIEF

Prepare food according to the Executive Chef’s specifications and set up stations for the menu; assist the Executive Chef with their daily tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.

· Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).

· Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

· Answer, report, and follow Executive Chefs’ instructions.

· Clean up the kitchen and properly store or dispose of leftover food.

· Stock inventory appropriately.

· Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.

· Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

· Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

· Ensure customer satisfaction.

· Assist with Banquet production and execution.

· Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

· Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook

· Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

· Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

· Familiar with industry’s best practices
