Breathing Apparatus / Nitrogen - BA/N2 Technician

ABIS is seeking a qualified Breathing Apparatus / Nitrogen - BA/N2 Technician to manage and maintain breathing apparatus and nitrogen equipment to ensure safety compliance on site. The technician will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems used in hazardous environments, particularly within the oil and gas industry. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with health and safety teams to support safe operations and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of breathing apparatus and nitrogen equipment.
  • Ensure all BA and nitrogen systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct equipment calibration and troubleshooting to maintain operational readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment status.
  • Provide support during emergency drills and real incidents by preparing and supplying breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems.
  • Coordinate with safety and operational teams to ensure compliance and safe work environments.
  • Train personnel in the correct use and care of breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems.

Requirements
  • Technical diploma or certification in relevant fields such as safety equipment maintenance, mechanical or electrical.
  • Previous experience working with breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems, preferably in oil and gas or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to breathing apparatus and compressed gases.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to work in challenging and potentially hazardous environments.
