Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and motivated Bricklayers’ Mates, Carpenters, Plasterers, Electricians, and Plumbers to join our dynamic construction team. This role involves supporting tradespeople in various building and installation tasks on-site. The successful candidates will contribute to the efficient completion of projects by assisting with a range of duties, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall workflow. Prior experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical work is highly desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within the construction industry while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople such as bricklayers, carpenters, plasterers, electricians, and plumbers in their daily tasks.
  • Handle and operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Support the preparation of work sites, including setting up scaffolding or protective coverings.
  • Mix materials such as mortar or plaster as required for specific tasks.
  • Assist with measurements, cutting, and fitting of materials under supervision.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on-site.
  • Support electrical installations where applicable, including basic wiring or conduit work with supervision.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with hand tools and power tools in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems or electrical experience is a plus but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks throughout the day.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training as required.
  • Valid health & safety awareness; adherence to site safety protocols at all times.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction trades are advantageous but not mandatory. This role offers an excellent platform for career development within the construction sector, providing practical experience across multiple trades in a professional environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,152.85-£46,788.70 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Cambridge
