Schwartz & Associates, Inc., a well-established and respected bridge engineering firm with offices in Lynchburg and Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Bridge Safety Inspector for our Lynchburg, VA office. Our firm specializes in structural bridge design, highway design, bridge safety inspection, construction inspection, and in-depth bridge deck evaluation, with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) as our largest client. Responsibilities

• Perform bridge safety inspections and field evaluations
• Conduct hands-on field work and document inspection findings
• Assist with bridge construction inspection as needed
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate inspection records
• Travel to various project sites as required

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in bridge safety inspection or bridge construction inspection preferred
• Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field desired
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety

Work Environment

• Position involves regular outdoor field work in varying weather conditions
• Travel to project sites is required

Pay: $40,100.00 - $52,400.00 per year
