Overview:
Are you the first one checking the snow report when storms roll through the Wasatch mountains? Do you thrive on early mornings, fresh tracks, and sharing winter stoke with the ski and snowboard community? Brighton Resort is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Snow Reporter to deliver accurate, timely, and engaging mountain condition updates all season long.
In this role, you’ll be the voice of Brighton each morning—reporting snowfall totals, lift operations, terrain updates, and weather conditions across our digital platforms. Beyond daily reports, you’ll collaborate on creative content that captures Brighton’s unique personality. Working closely with Marketing and Mountain Operations, you’ll help ensure our community always knows what’s happening on the hill.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

Arrive at the resort by 5:00 AM on assigned days to gather snow totals, weather data, and operational updates.

Deliver accurate and timely snow and mountain condition reports for the Brighton website and third-party platforms.

Update open trails, lifts, and terrain status across relevant reporting systems and guest communication channels.

Collaborate on engaging copy for social captions, newsletters, blogs, and snow-related updates.

Build relationships with Ski Patrol, Grooming, Lift Operations, and other departments to ensure reports are informed and accurate.

Capture photo and video content that highlights current conditions, events, and brand moments.

Support media and PR requests, including b-roll gathering, interview prep, and on-site coordination.

Assist in pulling analytics for social, website, and email performance reporting.

Other marketing-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Advanced/expert skier or snowboarder with the ability to ride daily in all weather and terrain conditions.

A creative storyteller who enjoys social media and creating authentic content.

Self-starter who can work independently in fast-changing mountain environments.

Comfortable working outdoors in harsh winter conditions, often before sunrise.

Must have a reliable vehicle that meets canyon travel requirements for winter driving (4WD/AWD with proper tires or chains).

Reliable winter transportation (position works outside shuttle hours).

Have a passion for weather, snow science, and sharing Brighton’s unique mountain culture.
Education and/or Experience

Prior ski industry, reporting, or communications experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field is a plus, but not required.

Photography, videography, or digital content creation experience is a plus.
Physical Demands

Must be able to ski or snowboard in variable mountain conditions.

Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.

Frequently required to use hands to operate communication tools and equipment.

Must frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment

Early mornings; outdoor work in all winter weather conditions.

Regular guest and staff interaction.

Noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high-volume environments (events, on-hill locations).
