Core Role

A Broadcast Engineer at Al Jazeera is responsible for keeping all broadcast systems running smoothly—from studios to global transmission—ensuring live news never goes down.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain broadcast systems (studios, control rooms, transmission)

Ensure system stability, uptime, and performance globally

Troubleshoot and fix:

Video/audio signal issues

Transmission errors

Live broadcast failures

Respond to:

Incidents, faults, and service requests quickly

Support live broadcasts (critical—no room for error)

Work with:

IT teams

production teams

control room operators

Maintain SLAs and KPIs for broadcast operations

Handle broadcast security incidents and system risks

Technical Skills Required:

Broadcast systems (video, audio, transmission)

IP-based broadcasting / networking

Satellite & fiber transmission systems

Control room operations

Tools like:

Avid / Vizrt / EVS (common in media)

Network monitoring systems

Strong troubleshooting under pressure (live TV environment)

Pay: From QAR30,000.00 per month
