Brokerage Assistant

Position Summary:

The primary function of this role is to provide high-level service and support to retail clients and insurance agents for life insurance policy servicing needs. As a key member of the Brokerage General Agency (BGA) team, this role ensures the efficient handling of in-force policy owner service requests while also supporting operational activities across both retail and wholesale financial services business lines. Reporting to the BGA Operations Manager, the Brokerage Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining strong relationships with producers and carriers and ensuring the smooth coordination of service initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Client and Agent Support

  • Collaborate with members of the Life Brokerage team to provide outstanding service to insurance agents, financial advisors, and their clients
  • Serve as the primary contact for all policy owner service-related inquiries and requests, conducting regular follow-ups on inquiries and consistently communicating with agents and advisors
  • Process and deliver all policy owner service correspondence received by the Brokerage General Agency, both via mail and email, in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with producers and carrier service teams to facilitate positive outcomes for clients
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all client communications and policy servicing

Operational Support

  • Coordinate and track service activities related to policy maintenance and updates
  • Support retail and wholesale initiatives by ensuring alignment with internal processes and business goals
  • Cross-train in areas such as case management, commissions, contracting, and underwriting to support team versatility and department coverage
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the BGA Operations Manager

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service-related position, preferably within the insurance or financial services industries
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a Pennsylvania Life & Health Insurance license within 6 months of hire
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and comfortable with cloud-based platforms
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems quickly
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data entry
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality of consumer and business information
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Office Location: 311 Main Street, Irwin, PA 15642 (Hybrid Work Options Available)
