Budget Analyst

Position Summary
The Budget Analyst supports the organization’s budgeting and financial planning processes by collecting data, preparing analyses, and monitoring expenses against approved budgets. This role assists with invoice review, variance analysis, monthly reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Budget Analyst works closely with department managers and the finance team to ensure spending aligns with financial expectations and policies.

This is a part time role – expected to be 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Preparation & Support

• Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets.
• Compile financial data, historical spending patterns, and departmental budget requests.
• Maintain budget worksheets, templates, and supporting documentation.

Expense Monitoring & Invoice Review

• Review invoices, purchase requests, and expense submissions for accuracy and proper coding.
• Assist with invoices through approval process to ensure timely payment.
• Verify that expenditures align with approved budgets before routing for final approval.
• Track spending throughout the year and flag potential issues or overages.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance reports.
• Assist with forecasting and updating financial projections. Support course fee planning.
• Research and explain spending trends or variances to the finance team.

Compliance & Recordkeeping

• Ensure financial transactions follow established policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate budget files, logs, and documentation for audit readiness.
• Support internal controls by verifying data accuracy and completeness. Assist in credit card reconciliation.

Cross‑Department Collaboration

• Respond to departmental questions regarding budgets, expense status, and financial policies.
• Provide basic financial guidance and help staff understand budgeting tools or reports.
• Support finance leadership with ad‑hoc analysis or special projects.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in budgeting, accounting, or financial analysis (internships acceptable).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel, and financial modeling.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and ability to work well with non‑financial staff.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Familiarity with budgeting concepts, financial reporting and income statement review.

The Medical Center provides naturopathic healthcare for a wide range of patients including but not limited to; family medicine, nutrition and digestive health, mental health and well-being, dermatologic conditions, endocrine and auto-immune concerns, and acute symptoms. The Neil Riordan Center for Regenerative Medicine focuses on non-opioid solutions to pain and pain management utilizing treatments ranging from cupping and acupuncture to regenerative injection therapies. The Medicinary is the largest natural pharmacy in Arizona, offering an expansive collection of the highest quality, professional-grade supplements, herbs, and natural health products.
