Budtender

Honey Sour is seeking a Budtender to join their team in Bozeman, MT. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working in the cannabis industry, and/or have robust knowledge of cannabis strains, products and affects, be well versed in upselling, customer retention, and would be inventive with ideas to drive more customers to the store. For this position, the potential for a Lead Budtender position is possible for the right candidate who has previous staff leadership experience.

This individual is responsible for knowing the product, affects, dosing, titrations, methods of consumption, quality metrics, and industry trends. The primary duties of the Budtender are:

• Greet and assist customers with product selection and recommendations.
• Complete customer transactions in an efficient and speedy manner while performing exceptional customer service.
• Educate customers on cannabis strains, potency, and consumption methods.
• Ensure register is stocked with all items needed to complete tasks in a compliant manner.
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options while advising customers about safety precautions.
• Escalate any customer concerns or issues when needed.
• Complete side work as assigned. Side work may include weighing and packaging bulk flower to pre-packaged units, rolling pre-rolls, labeling packaged products including flower, pre-rolls, 3rd party products, cleaning store, organizing stock, etc.
• Support and advocate a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and quality.
• Train new budtenders as necessary.
• Follow all company policies regarding product to maintain compliance.
• Report any compliance related concerns to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year previous customer facing retail experience, previous retail cannabis experience highly preferred.
• Role as a lead Budtender or higher would be preferred for position advancement.
• Knowledge of cannabis strains, potency, and consumption methods.
• Positive attitude and exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
• Extremely reliable and punctual.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Takes initiative to learn new techniques and skills to improve personal performance.
• Flexibility and willingness to provide support wherever needed; adapts quickly to the changing needs of the business.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• An independent self-starter with a “can-do” attitude.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a Montana CCD Worker Permit.

Working Conditions

Employee will work at a retail storefront in Bozeman, Montana

• Variable work environment temperatures affected by outside weather conditions.
• May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses and masks.
• Exposure to pollen, allergens, dust, fumes, and odors.
• May work physically near others.

Job Type: Full Time, Part Time, Depending on Availability

Pay: $19.00 -$24.00 depending on experience, plus tips of $30.00-$80.00 per shift
