Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Build and Release Engineer to join our growing team in Cairo. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our build, packaging, and release pipelines. You'll have the chance to work with modern CI/CD tools and processes, contribute to our DevOps culture, and directly impact the speed and quality of our software delivery. What You'll Do:

  • Build & Release Management: Own the end-to-end build, packaging, and release processes for our software products, ensuring timely and high-quality deployments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
  • Automation: Drive automation initiatives across the software development lifecycle to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance reliability.
  • DevOps Culture: Champion DevOps best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, shared responsibility, and continuous improvement.
  • System Administration: Manage and maintain build servers and environments, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
  • Scripting & Tooling: Develop and maintain scripts (primarily in Bash and Python) to automate tasks, integrate systems, and enhance the toolchain.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve build, deployment, and environment-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams, and effectively communicate release status, challenges, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for build processes, release procedures, and system configurations.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: 3 to 8 years of professional experience in Build and Release Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role.
  • CI/CD Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins, and a deep understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.
  • DevOps Knowledge: Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies, requirements, and tools.
  • Operating Systems: Proficient in Linux environments, including system administration, command-line tools, and shell scripting.
  • Scripting Languages: Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Version Control & Collaboration Tools: Experience with Git for version control, including Git platforms such as GitLab or GitHub. Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Database Fundamentals: Familiarity with database concepts and basic SQL operations.
  • Web Development Basics: Foundational understanding of web development concepts and technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including external customers.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying issues and a strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Experience with AI tools and models (e.g., LLMs).

Our Benefits & Rewards

The salary range for this position is $33,500 to $67,000 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
