Building Designer – Structural Concrete Insulated Panel (SCIP) Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Building Designer with a strong background in projects using Structural Concrete Insulated Panels (SCIP).
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical and practical knowledge of SCIP systems — from concept through installation — and the ability to collaborate effectively with builders, engineers, installers, and panel manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop designs and technical documentation for projects using SCIP systems.
  • Coordinate with builders, engineers, and installers to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance on SCIP panel performance, advantages, and limitations.
  • Evaluate SCIP manufacturer products and integrate specifications into project designs.
  • Support project teams in resolving design or field challenges related to SCIP panels.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in building design, specifically working with SCIP builders, engineers, installers, and manufacturers.
  • At least 5 years of design experience focused exclusively on SCIP systems, including project execution oversight.
  • 2–3 years of hands-on field experience with SCIP panels — understanding strengths, weaknesses, and installation challenges.
  • Proven experience with three or more SCIP panel manufacturers’ products.
  • Ability to produce technical drawings and construction details optimized for SCIP.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the project lifecycle, from schematic design to completion.

Note: Experience with other panel systems (ICF, SIP, tilt-up, etc.) will not be considered relevant.Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with shotcrete and precast SCIP applications.
  • Ability to educate clients and mentor team members on SCIP advantages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for design and field challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork across disciplines.

Education

  • Professional architecture license is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Opportunities for professional development in advanced SCIP technologies.
  • Collaborative environment with innovative building projects.
