Building Handyman – Job Responsibilities

  • General Maintenance & Repairs:
  • Perform routine inspections of buildings and facilities.
  • Repair minor plumbing issues (leaks, clogged drains, etc.).
  • Fix or replace broken fixtures, such as door handles, hinges, locks, and lights.
  • Perform basic electrical work (changing bulbs, switches, etc.).
  • HVAC & Electrical Systems Support:
  • Assist in maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Report major faults to specialized technicians or supervisors.
  • Painting & Carpentry:
  • Conduct touch-up painting and wall repairs.
  • Handle basic carpentry work like assembling furniture or repairing wooden structures.
  • Preventive Maintenance:
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure equipment and building systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
  • Stay on-call for building emergencies if required.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain logs of repairs, maintenance tasks, and work completed.
  • Tenant & Staff Interaction:
  • Address maintenance requests from tenants or employees politely and professionally.
  • Coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
