Building Inspection Engineer (Move in & move out)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Building Inspection Engineer to conduct comprehensive move-in and move-out inspections for residential and commercial properties. The role involves assessing unit conditions, documenting property status, identifying damages beyond fair wear and tear, capturing standardized inspection photos, recording utility meter readings, and preparing accurate inspection reports to support tenant handovers and security deposit reconciliation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical inspection skills, excellent documentation abilities, and a solid understanding of property maintenance standards and building systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct detailed move-in and move-out inspections of residential and commercial units.

* Assess and document the condition of walls, ceilings, flooring, fixtures, fittings, appliances, doors, windows, and other building components.

* Capture clear and standardized photographic evidence of unit conditions before and after tenancy.

* Record electricity, water, gas, and other utility meter readings accurately.

* Identify and document damages beyond normal wear and tear.

* Prepare comprehensive inspection reports for property management and tenant records.

* Coordinate with property managers, maintenance teams, landlords, and tenants during inspections and handovers.

* Verify completion of maintenance or repair works prior to tenant occupancy.

* Ensure inspection processes comply with company standards, lease agreements, and local regulations.

* Support preventive maintenance initiatives by identifying recurring property issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.

* Proven experience in property inspections, facilities management, building maintenance, or real estate operations.

* Strong knowledge of building systems, construction materials, and maintenance practices.

* Ability to identify structural defects, damages, and maintenance issues accurately.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting software.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections efficiently.

* Valid driving license required.
