Job Summary

Building Maintenance Technician 3 will be the senior lead responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of all plant electrical systems. We are seeking a professional with a valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license, capable of troubleshooting complex industrial machinery and leading electrical safety initiatives to minimize downtime across our production lines.

The individual acts as a team lead, providing mentorship to Levels 1 and 2, estimating project costs, and optimizing facility operations for energy efficiency and safety. This position requires high-level analytical skills to diagnose systemic issues and the leadership capacity to manage large-scale remodeling or infrastructure upgrading projects from conception to completion.

Essentials Functions

Building Maintenance 3 performs all core maintenance and repair tasks, in addition to the following:

  • Lead and execute complex maintenance repairs, including advanced plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system fixes.
  • Provide timely and professional response to high-priority production demands and complex maintenance requests.
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical resource, diagnosing and troubleshooting major mechanical failures or system breakdowns.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for company appliances and building systems.
  • Oversee and coordinate small remodeling, construction, and repair projects, ensuring work meets supervisor’s standards and is completed on time.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all facilities and exterior grounds, proactively detecting and reporting the need for major repairs and system upgrades.
  • Train and mentor new or junior maintenance staff on proper repair techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Manage the cleanliness and maintenance of outside spaces, including parking lots and sidewalks, and oversee the sprinkler system and trash containers.
  • Provide support and advanced guidance to clients/employees on maintaining equipment and systems.

Require Education / Experience

  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ working experience in a similar or related maintenance role, with a focus on commercial or industrial facilities.
  • Advanced experience with commercial plumbing systems; relevant certification or trade licensure is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead small teams or projects, providing technical guidance and work direction.
  • Solid experience working with a variety of hardware tools and power equipment.

Language Skills

Proficiency in the structure and content of the English and/or Spanish language. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend complex instructions, technical manuals, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present technical information and training in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus.
