Job description:
Creighton Brothers LLC is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facility. The ideal candidate will have strong general maintenance skills and experience working with ammonia-based refrigeration systems. Candidates with industrial or commercial ammonia experience are highly preferred. We are a family owned business that has been in operation since 1968. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, electrical, plumbing, and general facility infrastructure.
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration systems; assist with repairs under guidance of qualified personnel.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Perform equipment monitoring, record keeping, and compliance-related documentation as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all company policies and regulatory safety guidelines.
- Assist with facility repairs such as lighting, doors, flooring, and building needs.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with supervisor/other employees
- Assist contractors, vendors, and internal teams for maintenance projects.
- Identify opportunities for improved equipment performance and reliability.
- May operate vehicles, forklifts and other heavy equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or trade certification preferred.
- 2+ years of building or industrial maintenance experience required.
- Ammonia refrigeration experience (e.g., cold storage, food processing, industrial systems) strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams preferred.
- Experience in a USDA plant preferred.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
- Must be able to work occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
