Building SubstituteTantasqua Regional Jr. High SchoolAnticipated Start Date: ImmediateREPORTS TO: Building Principal/Assistant Principals RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide daily substitute coverage, as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and their records provides substitute coverage for teachers, assistants or other educational staff as assignedreviews all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching daymaintains established routines and procedures of the school and classroom assigned teaches the lessons outlined in the classroom teachers lesson plans writes a report about work completed at the end of each teaching day for absent teacherattends team meetings and IEP meetings as requestedattends parent conferences as requestedmeets with teachers for curriculum discussions as requestedmeets with teachers and other specialists to discuss school issues as requestedparticipates in in-service training programs and/or workshops as assignedperforms other duties as assignedABILITY TO: communicate effectively with students, teachers, and administrationeffectively apply school procedures and Student Handbook regulationswork with children of varying abilities, including children with disabilities maintain cooperative, productive and flexible working relationship when dealing with students and staffsolve practical problems with students and staffunderstand and carry out oral and written directionsplan and organize work to meet deadlines provide information and assistance to parents, the general public and other staff members in a helpful, courteous and timely mannerKNOWLEDGE OF: child development and challenges faced by students with and without disabilitiescurriculum expectations of grade level/discipline to which he/she is assignedavailable assistive technologies, with appropriate trainingeffective use of computer and relevant educational software applicationsinterpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesysafe operation of school equipment necessary to successfully complete daily tasks, including but not limited to copier, laminator, and paper cuttertelephone/computer techniques and etiquetteREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
