Building Support/Open Door Group Leader - Afternoons

In this role, you will lead open-door group activities, foster positive relationships, and support the overall well-being and development of young participants. Duties

• Facilitate engaging afternoon activities that promote social, emotional, and spiritual growth in children and youth
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment by implementing effective behavior management strategies
• Support classroom management and assist with daily routines to ensure smooth operations
• Collaborate with staff to develop inclusive programs tailored to diverse needs, including those with special education requirements
• Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and team members regarding participant progress and concerns
• Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently, including administering basic first aid when necessary
• Encourage participation in recreational activities such as sports coaching, theater arts, or other creative outlets to foster teamwork and confidence

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting roles
• Current Drivers License or State ID
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively and maintain a positive environment
• Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Experience with special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus
• Strong communication skills to engage children, parents, and team members clearly and compassionately
• Passion for supporting the growth of young people through nurturing guidance and active involvement

Pay: $17.19 - $17.78 per hour
