Job Summary
This full-time position is a chance to join a growing privately owned fleet technology company with a strong focus on purchasing, inventory control, and customer account management. Some accounting and general business administration experience is required, but this role is driven by purchasing needs, stock planning, and making sure products are available when customers need them.

You will take ownership of purchasing and supplier coordination, with responsibility for keeping stock levels accurate, replenishing products at the right time, and managing costs through vendor relationships. You will also handle customer interaction, order processing, and account management, maintaining steady communication with buyers and suppliers.

Inventory control is a major part of this position and includes tracking stock, forecasting demand, and improving workflow. Basic accounting duties such as invoicing and reconciliations will be expected, although they are not the main focus of the role.

Essential Responsibilities and Skills

Purchasing and Supplier Management

  • Source and order materials, products, and supplies
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers
  • Track purchase orders to ensure accurate delivery and proper stock levels
  • Work with projections and usage history to plan future purchasing

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock counts
  • Monitor reorder points and manage replenishment before shortages occur
  • Coordinate warehouse organization and product availability
  • Improve systems that support inventory accuracy and efficiency

Customer and Sales Support

  • Handle customer inquiries and process orders
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors
  • Support order fulfillment and communication throughout the sales process

Accounting and Business Administration

  • Complete basic accounting tasks including invoicing and reconciliations
  • Record financial transactions related to purchasing and sales
  • Assist with general administrative duties to support business operations

Key Skills

  • Experience in purchasing and procurement with a steady record of managing stock and suppliers
  • Understanding of inventory planning, forecasting, and tracking usage trends
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to organize inventory, prioritize tasks, and keep products moving efficiently
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and financial record keeping
  • Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities at once
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business management software
  • Problem-solving ability and solid critical thinking
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds

Education and Experience
Required: Experience in purchasing, inventory control, or customer management along with basic accounting knowledge
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field, or two to five years of relevant experience
