Business Analyst

Position summary:

The Business Analyst works with a variety of technical and functional partners within the business (Technology, Operations, Sales, etc) to define requirements for application development, report requests, BI initiatives, or other changes and requests of the Technology team. This individual will research project requests in detail to identify areas of improvement and automation, then create the required documentation in order to move projects forward. All requests from individuals working on the project are filtered through the Business Analyst for review and this position is responsible for project scope and corresponding changes to scope. The role will be focused on increasing efficiency, production, revenue, market share, and competitive ranking in all decisions and processes that are implemented.

Responsibilities:

Defines detailed requirements, analyzes business needs, and validates solutions with the client or end user
Identify areas where our organization can increase efficiency and strengthen business processes
Creates and maintains user stories within Jira or other project tracking utilities
Create visual flow diagrams and other supporting documentation related to project scope and sign-off
Performs feasibility analysis, scopes project, and recommends alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization
Serves as senior subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems to form desired results
Serves as a liaison between functional stakeholders and Technology teams to help keep initiatives moving forward smoothly and in accordance with project plans
Provide weekly status updates on current project assignments
Participates in multiple key initiatives simultaneously
Assists in the testing process to verify requirements have been met

Strong problem solving and analytical skills; able to think outside of the box on a consistent basis
Aptitude for Technology – Be able to discuss ideas related to technology and understand basic concepts of software development, hardware, and process flows
