About the Role:

This position is for a Business Analyst who will serve as a liaison between business leaders in the United States and Europe and the India-based Global Capability Center. The primary objective of the role is to help leaders achieve their business goals by applying Analytics, Machine Learning, and Generative AI technologies. The company has made significant investments in a Global Data Marketplace, and this individual will guide business leaders in leveraging it to strengthen and grow their operations.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for defining and executing high-impact projects, gathering and analyzing requirements, translating business needs into user stories, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver initiatives. The position is within an automotive manufacturing company, and prior experience in the automotive industry is required. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, proven business engagement expertise, and the ability to build lasting relationships with key partners, along with driving process strategy and improvements that enable cross-functional teams to deliver complex data, analytics, ML, and AI projects.

This role requires a deep understanding of business processes and engineering workflows, including identifying opportunities for improvement, coordinating across teams, and designing workflows that secure buy-in from business users. The Business Analyst will be expected to bridge business and technology by assessing requests, evaluating feasibility with technical teams, and proposing well-structured solutions. The analyst must understand constraints, craft proposals, and communicate them clearly, with strong skills in problem definition, communication, and presenting simple, actionable options.

The company’s technology stack includes Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, PowerBI, SQL, Python, Hadoop, and Spark. Deep technical expertise is not required -- the emphasis is on understanding processes and enabling business-driven solutions.

Technologies/Context:

Not a hands-on tools role, but must understand feasibility across Analytics, ML, and GenAI projects
Awareness of stack: Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, Python, Hadoop, Spark
ERP and Telematics systems (SAP, Oracle)
Governance tools (Unity Catalog, Snowflake RBAC, MS Entra)

2. Must-Haves

Technical / Functional Skills:

6+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst
At least 3 years experience in automotive industry
Experience in the automotive domains of Quality, Engineering R&D, and/or Supply Chain. Understanding of processes in these domains.
Experience with Analytics and ML projects. Experience with GenAI projects in addition is a big plus.
Strong process expertise: able to create, improve, and propose alternative processes
Proven experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, BRDs, user stories

Soft Skills:

Strong English skills and ability to work with U.S. and European stakeholders
Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Clear and concise communication (not vague communication).
Strong business engagement skills: able to build relationships and evangelize data/AI adoption
Proactive problem definition and proposal-making (multiple solution options, not biased)
Able to ask the right questions.

Positive attitude, integrity, and honesty

4. Work Arrangement and Hours

Location: Onsite in Whitefield, Bangalore; must already live locally (relocation candidates have had high turnover)
Work Hours: ~160 hours/month. Meetings typically start 9:00–9:30 AM IST, end ~5:00 PM IST
Work Remote Policy: Up to 6 WFH days/month

5. Important Project Details / Primary Responsibilities

Partner with stakeholders across global business units (U.S., Europe, India). Help shape adoption of an enterprise data marketplace and next-gen data solutions
Define and execute Analytics, ML, and GenAI projects
Gather, analyze, and document requirements for AI/ML/analytics systems and processes
Develop user stories, BRDs, acceptance criteria
Map AS-IS / TO-BE workflows; propose efficiency/digital enablement
Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate feasibility; propose structured solutions
Evangelize enterprise data marketplace adoption
Support ERP, telematics, and integration projects
Provide data analysis/reporting support for initiatives
Contribute to process improvement and end-user satisfaction
Monitor industry trends in automotive and mobility
