Role Summary

The Business Analyst acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. This role is responsible for understanding domain workflows, analysing business requirements, and translating them into clear functional specifications to ensure successful delivery of software solutions across multiple product domains.

Position Details

· Position: Business Analyst

· Location: Pune, India

· Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, In-office

· Experience Required: 5+ years

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the HRMS platform, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Backlog Management: Develop, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog to ensure it reflects user needs, regulatory requirements, and business value.
  • Requirement Gathering & Analysis:Lead end-to-end requirement gathering by conducting stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs; analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, UX/UI, QA, marketing, sales, HR, payroll, finance, and compliance stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable user stories.
  • Team Handling & Leadership: Guide, mentor, and coordinate with business analysts, developers, QA engineers, and UI/UX teams to ensure clarity of requirements, smooth execution, and timely delivery.
  • Agile Methodology: Lead and support Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure smooth and effective product delivery.
  • User-Centric Development: Analyses customer feedback, user behaviours, and market trends to guide feature enhancements and ensure a user-first experience for HR teams, managers, and employees (ESS/MSS).
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor product performance post-launch using analytics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and inform future development cycles.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to define go-to-market plans for new HRMS features, including demos, training materials, and product documentation.
  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Own the HRMS product lifecycle from ideation and requirement gathering to deployment, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Specifications & Documentation: Translate business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, workflows, and acceptance criteria for development and QA teams.
  • Integrations: Coordinate integrations with third-party systems such as biometric/attendance devices, email/SMS gateways, accounting or ERP tools, SSO/identity providers, and external HR/payroll partners.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure the platform supports statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS as applicable), audit trails, role-based access control, and secure handling of employee data.
  • Release Planning: Define release plans and communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and timelines to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven Improvements: Analyze HRMS usage and operational data to identify adoption gaps, inefficiencies, payroll or attendance issues, and opportunities for automation and improved employee experience.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

· Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst in enterprise software

· Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies

· Proven experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills

· Experience working on HMIS, HRMS, or Education ERP (CMS) platforms

· Understanding of healthcare, HR, and academic workflows

· Exposure to AI/ML-based systems and data-driven decision platforms

· Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Figma, and Excel

· Experience with API-based integrations

· Ability to mentor junior business analysts
