Business Analyst

SUMMARY

The Business Analyst's primary role is to manage the business foundation for the development, delivery, and maintenance of TEA's Portfolio of business solutions applications and tools, both new and existing, to support business functions for Trading. The Business Analyst enables the business to articulate needs, recommends solutions that can deliver value to stakeholders, and provides business-driven input for solution design. This is a cross-functional role requiring in-depth knowledge of all of TEA's business functions, processes, and systems. The Business Analyst bridges the "knowledge gap" between the needs of the business and the needs of TEA's business solution providers (i.e., Software Engineering, Business Insights, Analytics, and/or third-party vendors) to deliver the most effective and efficient applications, tools, and systems that are critical to the delivery of core services to TEA's Members and Clients. The Business Analyst will serve as a dedicated resource for TEAs solution development teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, and ATTRIBUTES:

  • Manages the business foundation for the development, delivery, and maintenance of TEA's Portfolio of business applications and tools, both new and existing, to support business functions
  • Responsible for Business Requirements Life-Cycle Management, including, but not limited to:
    • Business requirements gathering through business stakeholder engagement;
    • Confirmation and verification of stakeholder requirements and related information on a continuous basis;
    • Creation and documentation of business requirements and user stories, including specification and modeling of requirements and designs;
    • Structure and organization of business requirements;
    • Identification of solution options that meet business needs along with estimates of potential value that could be realized for each solution option;
    • Management and maintenance of business requirements and design information from solution inception to retirement;
    • Assess, analyze and gain consensus on proposed changes to requirements and designs
  • Assesses the performance of and value delivered by a solution in use by the enterprise and ensures smooth integration of tools and applications into business operations
  • Serves as TEA's direct service-level representative for third-party or vendor-provided and/or hosted business systems, tools, and applications
  • Understands the needs of business users and stakeholders and serves as the voice to the solution development team, representing the business in all aspects of TEA's development and deployment of technology services
  • Has in-depth knowledge of solution development technologies and platforms used to facilitate the solution development cycle (VSTS/Azure DevOps as an example)
  • Qualified to serve the role of Product Owner on a supplemental and/or as-needed basis.
  • Along with the Product Owner, interfaces across TEA business departments to ensure the integrity of systems and maintain consistency with established corporate processes
  • Along with the Product Owner, interfaces with TEA Members and Partners as necessary to ensure our operations are customer-oriented
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in technical or another appropriate field from an accredited college or technical school with an emphasis in Computer Science, Technology Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or Finance preferred. Candidate should have at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
