Business Analyst

Description:

We are looking for a Business Analyst to play a high-impact role in the next phase of Syringa’s NetSuite transformation, but this role is less about the system itself and more about understanding the people and processes behind it. With core systems now live, the focus has shifted to improving how the business operates day-to-day. This role works closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand how work gets done, where friction exists, and what success looks like from their perspective. You’ll help translate business challenges into clearer processes, more useful reporting, and systems that support effective, scalable ways of working. This is a highly collaborative, problem-solving role that requires curiosity, strong communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.

This role is best suited for someone who naturally asks “why,” enjoys working closely with stakeholders, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity to solve real business problems, not just implementing predefined solutions.

  • Business problems are clearly defined before solutions are proposed.
  • Teams gain confidence using systems and data to do their jobs more effectively.
  • Conversations shift from “what solution do you need?” to “what problem are you trying to solve and/or what decision will it inform?”
  • Solutions reflect thoughtful tradeoffs between business needs and long-term system scalability.
  • You are known for asking thoughtful questions that help others clarify their thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Business Understanding & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders by understanding their goals, challenges, and how work actually gets done.
  • Facilitate conversations that uncover root causes, clarify needs, and align on desired outcomes.
  • Ask thoughtful, and at times challenging, questions to move beyond surface-level requests.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable solutions across processes, systems, and reporting.

Process Improvement & Enablement

  • Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities to simplify or improve how work gets done.
  • Partner with teams to implement better processes, balancing business needs with system capabilities.
  • Enable stakeholders to work more confidently and effectively with systems and data.

Systems & Tools

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of NetSuite to support and optimize how business processes are executed.
  • Build and maintain NetSuite saved searches, workflows, and configurations to better align with business needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to find the right balance between business needs and system capabilities, avoiding unnecessary complexity or technical debt.

Reporting & Insights

  • Build and enhance dashboards and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Shift conversations from “what data is needed” to “what decisions need to be made.”
  • Coach and support business users in building, modifying, and interpreting their own reports and dashboards, supporting a shift toward confident self-service.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Collaborate closely with other Business Analysts to align on process understanding, system behavior, and standards.
  • Maintain clear, accessible documentation that supports shared understanding across teams.
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) in a business-facing capacity.
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders to understand processes, identify needs, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on real-world business impact.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in business terms and enable stakeholders through change.
  • Experience with reporting or BI tools (Sigma preferred).
  • General data fluency (e.g. understanding tables, relationships, and how data supports business processes).
  • Telecommunications industry background is a plus.
