
Key Responsibilities

Assess and underwrite insurance risks in line with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements

Review proposals, policy terms, endorsements, renewals, and claims impact

Define underwriting rules, pricing logic, eligibility criteria, and risk appetite

Support portfolio monitoring, loss ratio analysis, and underwriting performance reviews
-
Gather, analyze, and document business and underwriting requirements
-
Translate underwriting processes into BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and functional specifications
-
Work closely with Product Owners and Tech teams to support product development and enhancements
-
Participate in UAT and validate underwriting workflows, rating engines, and rule engines
-
Identify process gaps, automation opportunities, and operational improvements
-
Act as a bridge between underwriting, operations, product, and technology teams
-
Support product launches, system enhancements, and regulatory changes
-
Assist in SOP creation, workflows, and process documentation
Requirements
-
3–7 years of experience in underwriting, business analysis, or related insurance roles
-
Experience in Motor, Health, General Insurance, or Specialty Lines
-
Strong understanding of underwriting concepts, risk assessment, pricing, and policy administration
-
Hands-on experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flow documentation
-
Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies
-
-Exposure to InsurTech platforms, underwriting engines, or policy administration systems is preferred

Knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance standards
-
Proficiency in Excel, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and basic SQL is an advantage
-
-Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-
-Detail-oriented with the ability to work in fast-paced cross-functional environments
-
-Insurance certifications such as CII, AIII, LOMA, or CPCU are preferred
